I came across these two quotes recently and they really made an impression on me. Firstly:

It reminded me of what I feel I am doing when I'm out with my camera, both photographically and mentally.

Secondly:

If one day cities disappear the fields will survive.

But if the fields disappear the cities will not survive.

The canal where I walk a lot is sadly one of the green areas where developers are now building houses and this quote says it all for me.
